Resource Efficient Design
Our spaces are thoughtfully designed with both comfort and sustainability in mind. Energy efficient measures implemented include LED lighting, motion sensors and in-suite guest management systems, allowing guests to personalise lighting and temperature for optimal comfort. Behind the scenes, we continue to enhance our infrastructure with upgraded chillers and other energy efficient systems as part of our long-term journey towards BCA Green Mark certification.
Water Conservation
Situated in a water-scarce city state, we are mindful of our water consumption. Some water saving measures we have adopted are installing low-flow aerators, regular leak inspections and offering guests the option to reuse linens. As part of our long-term commitment to sustainability, we are also upgrading our cooling towers to more water-efficient systems.
Low Waste Practices
Across our operations, we strive to minimise the use of high-carbon-impact materials such as single-use plastics and embrace sustainable alternatives like paper and plant-based materials. We recycle different waste streams which include e-waste and glass, and our Butler team repurposes items such as nut jars and scrap leather into candle jars and luggage tags that serve as thoughtful keepsakes for our guests.
Sustainable Sourcing Philosophy
Despite having a limited local agriculture, we are committed to sourcing ingredients responsibly, ensuring freshness and verified sustainability certifications such as Marine Stewardship Council and Fair Trade. At Butcher's Block, the IMUA menu is crafted with a zero-waste, whole-animal butchery philosophy that honours both flavour and sustainability.
A Green Oasis Amidst an Urban Landscape
Amidst the growing urban landscape around the hotel, we have continued to nurture lush greenery and lawns adorned with local flora over the years. These green spaces offer guests and visitors a quiet respite from the urban heat, inviting a moment of calm and a gentle appreciation of nature where it is least expected.
Local Communities
As part of our long-term partnership with Community Chest Singapore, we display and sell handicrafts lovingly made by our beneficiaries at the Shop for Good corner in Raffles Boutique. Together with the quarterly colleague flea market, all sales proceeds from these initiatives are donated directly to Community Chest.
